A piece of wax foundation, which is just about 2 cm wide, is glued along the upper frame bar. At the end of April, when the weather warms up (usually this done during the expansion of the brood section) – the segmented frame is installed on the edge of the brood section, close to the side door, to be the first accessed. After 3-4 days, by opening the door, the drone honeycomb which is sewn already, has to be cut out from the first frame segment. A week later – cut out from the second segment, another yet week – from the third segment. The process is repeated until preparation for autumn feeding. Doing this way, by cutting out the sealed drone brood, a significant part of the varroa mites were removed along.
